This is a gorgeous Capsicum annuum variety from Christopher Phillips' collection that was made by the late Italian pepper guru, Mario Dadomo who headed Azienda Agraria Sperimentale Stuard in Parma, Italy.
This pepper facility is world renowned for creating some of the best looking/tasting ornamental pepper varieties. This plant has beautiful dark green/purple leaves and produces a huge amount of peppers that are pequin-like.
The 1/2" pods ripen from black to green to red and have thin flesh and a mild heat level. The pods pop right off the calyx just like typical bird pepper types when fully ripen. It's a winner all around!
